West Park Community Association
Architectural Control Committee

The Architectural Control Committee has assumed the responsibilities given to it by the Board of Directors of the West Park Community Association. The purpose of the committee is to enforce the architectural covenants and restrictions as set forth in the deed for each lot of Section 25, Kings Park West.

Enclosed is a reproduction of these covenants and restrictions taken directly from the deed on file with Fairfax County. Each homeowner on Headly Ct., Stallworth Ct., and addresses between 4909 and 5011 Sideburn Rd. are legally bound to comply with the articles set forth in this reproduction.

The committee is concerned with maintaining the attractiveness of our community, for the enjoyment of its members and to preserve the value of their investment in their home and property.

Procedures are as follows for any homeowner who wishes to make any structural changes or additions on their property.

  • Written plans must be submitted to any member of the Architectural Control Committee stating the location of the structure with sufficient information to allow the committee to make a determination with regard to quality of workmanship, materials and harmony of external design with existing structures.
  • The Architectural Control Committee will respond in writing within 30 days.
  • Structural changes or additions which require approval include but are not limited to: tool sheds, fences, additions to home, porches, decks, pools, solar panels, exterior paint, any buildings placed on lots, etc.

There are some cases where buildings have been placed on lots which the committee feels are not in harmony with existing structures. The committee asks that each homeowner voluntarily make any improvements to these structures in order to ensure the natural beauty of the subdivision.

The committee will also look into the possibility of amending these covenants and restrictions in the future. To officially amend these covenants and restrictions a 75% majority of the community members in good standing must sign the revision. Therefore, any amendment will, certainly, be in the interest of the community.

Sincerely,

The Architectural Control Committee
